Child Protection Helpline Sees Surge in Calls After Awareness Campaign

Following a month-long awareness campaign led by our social enterprise, the national child protection helpline recorded a 42% increase in incoming calls. The campaign included school visits, online videos, and posters across public areas, aiming to teach children and adults how to report abuse safely and confidentially.

According to helpline staff, many callers were young people themselves, empowered to speak out for the first time. “This shows that when children know their rights and trust the system, they will act,” said Mai Lan, a social worker with the project. The rise in reports has enabled faster response to cases and increased referrals to counseling services. Our team is now working with local authorities to expand the campaign to rural and ethnic minority areas where support systems are limited.
