A Second Chance
When Linh was eight years old, she had to leave school to help her family earn a living. Selling lottery tickets on the streets of Hoa Binh city, Linh dreamed of returning to the classroom. One day, a volunteer teacher noticed her interest in books and invited her to a free community learning center.
With support from the center and her mother’s encouragement, Linh resumed her studies. She learned to read, write, and slowly caught up with children her age. Today, Linh is 15 and mentors younger kids at the same center that once gave her hope.
Linh’s story shows how a small opportunity and someone who cares can make a lifetime of difference. Every child deserves a second chance.
